New ID Law

The USA has made it a requirement

for all states to be in compliant with Real ID issued by government. Starting in October of 2020, you will be required to have a REAL ID.

The law was passed in 2005 and most states do issue REAL ID. If your drivers licenes has a gold or black star in the upper right corner.

When traveling by air, you must have Identification to travel. If your DL is not a REAL ID, you will get denied going through TSA.

There are other acceptable documents for travel such as; Passport, Passport card, Global Entry Card.

Check with your local DL agency before you travel.
