Where should I Go? | Rapid City SD

Updated: Jan 14

Just returned from Rapid City SD. Rapid City has amazing weather in the month of September. It is located in the western part of the state on the eastern slope of the Black Hills mountain range. Known as the city of presidents because of the life-size bronze president statues located downtown.

So many things to see in Rapid City! Home to the Art Alley, Dinosaur Park, the City of Presidents walking tour, Chapel in the Hills, Storybook Island, Main Street Square. Part of the Berlin Wall is there! So much American history.

We stayed at the Alex Johnson Hotel, built-in 1928. This hotel has native American decor at it finest. It has been featured on the show Ghost Hunters (we stayed in the room!). We had dinner at the Rooftop restaurant, Votex. The food and atmosphere is astonishingly beautiful.

My husband and I went to an amazing Cigar shop, Tinder Box, housed in a building built in 1928. Wonderful wine, chocolate, chess board and of course a great cigar smoke.

Many shops with Indian Art and artifacts.

Golf anyone?? The Executive Par 3 course is open to the public (we played 2 times!).

So many fabulous restaurants to choose from.

It is one of the most amazing and memorable cities we have visited. A must see place in America!
