Did you know that snub nose animals are NOT allowed as checked baggage?
I have a Boxer dog. I got my wonderful dog from a couple traveling to Hawaii with a puppy Boxer. As a ticket agent, I have a checklist of animals allowed and animals not allowed as cargo. I know that Boxer's, a snub-nose dog is not allowed. My customers were not aware of that. We tried other airlines, but no commercial airline accepts them for transport unless it is one that specializes in animals only.
They were a young military couple and no family could come to get the dog. They were sending him to the pound. I rescued the Boxer, named him Boomer, and brought him home to our family. Twelve years later, Boomer has been the best dog our family has ever owned!
Below is a list of breeds that are considered snub-nosed animals that may be restricted from flying as cargo. If you can carry on the animal (must fit under the seat, stand up and turn around).
